Dear Friends,
Whether you're a newcomer or an "old timer" living
in Coweta and Fayette Counties, we hope that you'll
enjoy this 19th edition of the Guide 2005 - covering
Coweta and Fayette Counties. In this edition,
you'll find great articles about new places to
visit and shop, as well as fresh new features
about our local people and events.
Our people have great hearts and you can see
that clearly in the feature articles about the
"Field of Hope" that started with one man's dream
and was taken on as a community project by many
different organizations, lead by the Rotary Club
of Peachtree City. Another story is about Atlanta
Falcon's Keith Brooking, a resident of Newnan,
who is giving back to the community through his
support of foster children and the agencies that
serve them.
We're proud of our new look - our Real Estate
Section doesn't just focus on houses but features
some local "homes" and the people who take special
pride in their yards. Of course, you'll still
find a comprehensive list of developments in our
area. In the Business Section, you'll learn how
some important ladies in both Coweta and Fayette
are working hard to make this a fun place to live
while promoting a healthy business climate. Be
sure to read the articles about the great locally-owned
and managed restaurants in our area - they all
feature friendly owners who provide warm hospitality
while serving up special dishes. These are just
a few of the articles that you'll enjoy reading
in our magazine, which is also a year-round source
of information to keep by your telephone or on
your coffee table.
While working in the market this year, we could
feel the overall uplifting of spirits - business
people everywhere are feeling the effects of the
return of a positive economy. Our area is blessed
with so many good people who do their very best
every day to make this a better place to work,
live and play. We hope that we've captured their
spirit and passed it along to you - hopefully
these stories will be an encouragement to you,
our readers.
This year, you and about 70,000 other people
will be receiving this book at no cost at all.
That's because our advertisers make this publication
possible. We ask that you support them with your
business all year long and tell them "the Guide
sent me".
Sincerely,
Charlie Nelson
