The Rotary Club of Peachtree City:

The Rotary Club of Peachtree City celebrates 40 years of service to our community on November 13, 2007. During this time, local Rotarians have made many important contributions, which have improved the lives of others here at home, in neighboring communities, the State of Georgia, our country as a whole and indeed worldwide. We continue to support local schools, youth activities, senior services, health care institutions, and provide relief from natural disasters and other misfortunes. We enable people from around the world to study together and work side-by-side in humanitarian service.

This telephone directory is the 34th edition of a publication that has become the local information source of choice in Peachtree City and Fayette County. We thank our advertisers and all involved for helping us provide this important service. The revenue from ad sales provides our funding for many community and international service projects. Please support the businesses who advertise in this book. They make our charitable service work possible.

Our club is one of 70 central and southwest Georgia clubs that comprise the award
winning Rotary District 6900. We are always looking for additional members who want to help us serve mankind. We meet each Thursday at noon at the Wyndham Peachtree Executive Conference Center. For information contact us at: 678-884-9556, or ask any local Rotarian.

What is Rotary?

Paul P. Harris formed the world's first service club, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on February 23, 1905. The name "Rotary" was derived from the early practice of rotating meetings among members' offices.

As Rotary grew, its mission expanded beyond serving the professional and social interests of club members. Rotarians began pooling their resources and contributing their talents to help serve communities in need. The organization's dedication to this ideal is best expressed in its principal motto: Service Above Self. From the earliest days of the organization, Rotarians were concerned with promoting high ethical standards in their professional lives; to this end, Rotary embraced a code of ethics, called The 4-Way Test:

Of the things we think, say or do:

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
