The
Rotary Foundation:
Unique to
Rotary International is the support given to local clubs to perform service work
in other countries. The Rotary Foundation provides matching grants to local clubs
enabling them to leverage service via international projects. Providing wheelchairs
to those who desperately need them, homes for people living in cardboard shacks,
immunization of children from Polio
and other diseases, water supplies in communities with no infrastructure, solar
ovens for baking bread in villages with no power, are but a few examples of what
Rotary can do with foundation assisted funding. These funds are generated through
Foundation donations made by clubs and individual Rotarians. Rotarians are recognized
based on the level of donations made. Paul Harris Fellows, Paul Harris Society
Members, and Rotary Foundation Major Donors all receive recognition for the increasing
commitments that they have made. The Peachtree City Rotary Club is proud that
it is a 100 Percent Paul Harris Fellow Club. Each member has made donations to
the Foundation of at least $1000 in support of international projects.
Club Administration:
Rotary Club
service would not be possible without the tireless work of Rotarians who serve
their clubs in administrative roles. Peachtree City Rotarians serve by providing:
- Club bulletins
to inform members of events, service opportunities and needs
- Websites
that provide the community and Club members with information about club activities
and service projects
- Documentation
(photos, written articles, reports etc.) that supply communities, our Rotary District,
and Rotary International with information about local activities
- Opportunities
for individual growth through volunteerism
Fund
Raising Efforts:
Club members
work tirelessly on fundraising projects to support our work. This telephone directory
and our newest fundraising project, the Lake Peachtree Dragon Boat Races, provide
the funding needed to attain our service goals. The Peachtree City Rotarians thank
you for your support of our programs. We couldn’t do it without you.
